Tennis is a game which requires skill, coordination, a racquet and balls, with the object of the game being to beat your component in winning 5 points. It provides a great workout for the body and is a good way to sweat out those unwanted toxins.
Standing at 175cm tall, Serena Williams is one of the great female icons of tennis. Having won 4 Grand Slam singles titles, she is certainly a force to be reckoned with. Along with her great talent for tennis, she exhibits the unusual stylings of a fashionista, both on and off the court. She has made headlines for her eccentric tennis outfits, such as the black lycra catsuit which she sported at the US open, denim skirts and even a white waist length trench coat at Wimbledon. Why not glamorise the on court get-up, if you’re going to be bringing your game in front of millions of viewers, there’s no shame in looking good while you do it!
The feel-good movie “Wimbledon, which was released in 2004, starring Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany, puts an interesting spin on the game of tennis. Emphasising the point that tennis at a pro level should not be all about the money and the fame, but more about the game, whilst playing out the sentimental love story which is obligatory for a romantic comedy. However, I wonder just how genuine Kirsten Dunst was, playing that role, I mean, did she learn to play tennis at a pro level, or were her tennis scenes just a talented double? If that’s the case, why didn’t they just hire Serena Williams for the part? She’s had experience in television, and I’m sure when displayed on the big screen, her booty alone could have had its own plot line.
It goes without saying that tennis is a great way to vent frustrations. There is some gratification in whacking balls around a court which is always good for the coordination – I’m sure we could all use some work on our ball-handling skills!

I’ll give Serena credit for that image… ;p
